General Manager PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry Branch Ketapang, Yannes Kurniawan, ensured that the crossing service was not affected by the incident. Yannes stated that the crossing activities between Banyuwangi and Bali remain stable as usual. Despite the ongoing search process for the victims of the sinking of KMP Tunu Pratama Jaya in the Bali Strait, ferry services between Ketapang and Gilimanuk continue to operate normally.
There have been no significant changes in the operational activities of the ships or the daily trip numbers. Yannes mentioned that the number of vehicles and passengers crossing has been relatively steady, even during the school holiday season. He noted that while there is more traffic at night with many buses arriving, crossings are relatively quiet during the day.
Yannes also confirmed that there has been no reduction in the number of ships. All 28 fleet units are still operating according to schedule. KMP Tunu Pratama Jaya sank on Wednesday night while sailing from Ketapang to Gilimanuk, carrying a total of 65 people, including 12 crew members, 53 passengers, and 22 vehicles.
By the second day of the search process on Friday, 36 individuals had been found, with 30 of them found safe and the remaining 6 confirmed dead. The search for the remaining 29 victims is ongoing by a joint search and rescue team.
