Unlocking Health: Free Checks for Disease Freedom

The Free Health Check (CKG) program is seen as a crucial initiative by Hariqo Wibawa Satria, the Senior Expert at the Presidential Communication Office (PCO), in promoting a healthier society. Hariqo emphasized that CKG serves as the initial step towards disease prevention and encourages individuals to prioritize their health throughout their lives. He envisions a future where every Independence Day not only celebrates freedom but also a growing number of Indonesians freed from illness. President Prabowo’s administration has launched various priority programs like CKG, the “Stop TB” campaign, hospital revitalization, and special allowances for medical specialists in hard-to-reach areas. Despite Indonesia celebrating its 80th independence anniversary, the nation still grapples with the economic and social burdens of diseases. The economic impact of illness in terms of productivity loss and healthcare costs is substantial, highlighting the importance of investing in healthcare as an economic asset. Hariqo raised concerns about the health issues faced by Indonesian children, emphasizing the importance of CKG as a preventive measure and a tool for health education. The ultimate goal is to have a healthier population that can actively participate in the country’s development and economic progress. By enhancing public health, Indonesia can also increase human resource productivity and potentially boost GDP growth significantly.
